Recount Writing Tautoro Cross Cantry

I am learning to use the correct structure and language for Recount Writing.
Tautoro Cross Country
“Ready set go!” yelled Whaea Rosina.
I sprinted off with the others. I was running with the 7 year olds. It was a Wednesday morning at the Padlie farm. We were having our Tautoro School Cross Country race.
I felt that I wanted to run fast. Some of the 7 year olds were really fast. They were as fast as a racing car.
I felt keen that I was going to run faster and faster. It was a long race. Our group had to do 2 laps around the course. When I was on my first lap I boosted off like a rocket ship but on my second one I started to slow down. I got a stitch on my second lap. It felt like I was getting stabbed with a knife. It was very painful. When I was running up and down the hill I was breathing fast and hard. My lungs felt that they were going to explode.
When I went around the corner I could hear my dad yelling “Go Mana go!” I never gave up because I used the hoe of kaha and tumaia. Later on I overtook 3 girls that were in front of me in the corner because I ran as fast as a rocket ship. I finally got to the finish line. I was so tired but happy to get to the end of my race. I went to Whaea Dawnette to mark me off and to see where I came in my race.
I was really happy and proud of myself when Whaea Dawnette told me that I came second for RED team.

I raced to tell my dad the awesome news. When we were at the start of the race I said that I wouldn't make it to the Ohaeawai School Cross Country race but in the end I did make it to Ohaeawai. I felt super happy with my race.
