At the beach.
16/10/2017.
Yippy yi yay! On a lovely Saturday morning I woke up and my Dad said, “Come on you sleepy heads come and have breakfast.” He wanted us to hurry up because we were going at 9.30 to the beach. It was Paihia beach. First me and my sister Jean went upstairs to have breakfast. I had porridge that my mum makes. She makes delicious porridge. It was as yummy as pancake. Then when I finished my breakfast I went to get my stuff ready. I got my spare clothes so I could have a swim. When I was just finished everybody was finished as well. Me and Taonga went to play outside. We started to play hide and go seek. Taonga was it. He couldn't find me. It was so hard. Then my big sisters came out and asked, “What are you playing?” We both shouted, “Hide and go seek!” We had a dog. He was playing with us too. He was hiding with me so I said, “Don’t bark or Taonga will find us.” So my dog did not do anything. He just sat there. Later on they all found me. Shortly after Taonga found me, we were ready to go. “Yay! Finally we’re going!” we shouted.
It was a long way to get to the beach. When we got there, I asked my mum and dad, “Can we go to Waitangi please?” My mum said, “Why do you want to go there?” I said, “Because that's our activity.” So they both said, “O.K. let's go then.” When we were finished at Waitangi we went back to the beach. When we got to the beach I saw a lot of people. There were over 80 people. Some were swimming, some were walking along the beach, some were having a picnic, some were building sandcastles and some were just sitting on the sand.
We were excited to be at the beach. We had a lovely swim and we did lots of beach activities. It was a cool fun day for me and my family.
